SO Derby 2017 Board of Directors
As a founding member of the Southern Oregon Roller Girls, Madame Morticia has contributed to the success and continuity of our league in every way. She is a cornerstone in the foundation of SO Derby and has served on the Board of Directors as President and Vice President for many years. Her commitment to the league and the sport of roller derby in general is admirable and speaks volumes about the kind of wonderful person she is.
Since joining SO Derby in 2015, this media maven serves our league as our very own graphic designer, Marketing, Media, and Merch committee chair, and now will serve as the Secretary for the 2017 Board of Directors. Cyber designed our current logo as well as creates our #TeamworkTuesdays posts, generates all of our social media and print media, manages our website, and fixes all the little bugs behind the scenes. Cyber Attack was voted by the Rogue Valley Messenger Poll as the valley's best graphic designer for 2016! Her work and passion for design, letters and roller derby all come together to showcase some truly unique and beautiful talent. She is wonderfully collaborative and a joy to work with.
Derby Mom has done and seen many things in her time! She has worked as a preschool aide and nanny, worked in fields such as insurance and construction, hosted a TV crafting show, worked as a professional videographer, and has volunteered countless hours to different organizations. She is the Treasurer for organizations close to her heart, including a local library, a water district and you guessed it - SO Derby. She is the mother of our very own Naughty Maudie 3000, and acts as the proxy mom to the entire team and league. She is our very biggest cheerleader and even helps with babysitting. SO Derby is so very lucky to have her "on board!"
Besides being super fun on skates, SO Derby's Secretary, Calameity works hard to make sure everyone in the league gets all the necessary bits of information. She facilitates communication and record keeping between committee chairs and does it with superhero-like abilities. She is an asset to the league in ways we cannot even measure!
Naughty Maudie 3000 has served on the Board of Directors of three different roller derby leagues in Southern Oregon and has held every office. In 2011, she was appointed as SORG's WFTDA representative and guided the league through the apprenticeship process until SORG graduated from the program as full members in 2013. She continues to represent SO Derby as WFTDA's Skater Representative. She helped launch and coach SORG's Pear Blossoms and has coached and run countless practices for the adult league, while also skating as our most formidable blocker. After serving on the board for over five years, she left her presidential post to serve as SO Derby’s Head Coach. She is honored and humbled to be of service to SO Derby in her newly-elected position. SO Derby is equally honored to have Naughty lead and mentor us, as she always has, and we look forward to supporting her in the challenges to come.
