Pretty Awkward has been a contributing member of SO Derby since January of 2010. She joined on the threshold of the teams founding (as the Southern Oregon Rollergirls) and has been pivotal in our success over the past nine years. Pretty has worked on many special committees for SO Derby. She has served as a Nemeisister, Dues Officer, Team Captain, Fresh Meat and Juniors Trainer and has been one of key players in making sure you get Merchandise. This year Pretty Awkward takes the reign as President! She has great year ahead of her. SOD is back in our home digs, we have some sanctioned WFTDA games and lots of Service projects for the season. Her institutional knowledge and passion for our league make her an ideal leader and we’re happy that she is a guiding force for league growth and stability!
BlaspheMoose joined SO Derby in 2015 and in the span of a year she made the roster and stepped into some really challenging leadership roles. Her skills, no nonsense approach to getting things done and collaborative spirit have been invaluable to the growth and strength of the league.
For the 2016-2017 season Moose was Chairperson for the Service Committee. Service is the heart of SO Derby and Moose led the way. Our league Service season was celebrated with Parades, the Polar Plunge, working with Habitat for Humanity and cleaning our adopted stretch of the Bear Creek Greenway.
In 2017 took a training spot on the Training Committee. She was on point in identifying training pitfalls, keeping the team motivated and better the skills of every player. In 2018 Moose bring her leadership skills to our Board of Directors. As Vice President she will be a liaison to all of our committees and offer guidance and her own unique experiences to the governing body of our league!
Derby Mom has done and seen many things in her time! She has worked as a preschool aide and nanny, worked in fields such as insurance and construction, hosted a TV crafting show, worked as a professional videographer, and has volunteered countless hours to different organizations. She is the Treasurer for organizations close to her heart, including a local library, a water district and you guessed it - SO Derby. She is the mother of our very own Naughty Maudie 3000, and acts as the proxy mom to the entire team and league. She is our very biggest cheerleader and even helps with babysitting. SO Derby is so very lucky to have her "on board!"
Naughty Maudie 3000 has served on the Board of Directors of three different roller derby leagues in Southern Oregon and has held every office. In 2011, she was appointed as SORG's WFTDA representative and guided the league through the apprenticeship process until SORG graduated from the program as full members in 2013. She continues to represent SO Derby as WFTDA's Skater Representative. She helped launch and coach SORG's Pear Blossoms and has coached and run countless practices for the adult league, while also skating as our most formidable blocker. After serving on the board for over five years, she left her presidential post to serve as SO Derby’s Head Coach. She is honored and humbled to be of service to SO Derby in her newly-elected position. SO Derby is equally honored to have Naughty lead and mentor us, as she always has, and we look forward to supporting her in the challenges to come.
As a founding member of the Southern Oregon Roller Girls, Madame Morticia has contributed to the success and continuity of our league in every way. She is a cornerstone in the foundation of SO Derby and has served on the Board of Directors as President and Vice President for many years. Her commitment to the league and the sport of roller derby in general is admirable and speaks volumes about the kind of wonderful person she is.
